Dan Tarell Memorial Point
St Cloud, FL 34771
The Dan Tarell Memorial Point is one of the coolest, prettiest and most diverse places in St. Cloud. Basically, it’s located on a big open stretch of Marina known as Lakefront Park. This is one place where you won’t run out of things to do!
You are immersed in the feeling that you are in the middle of lake Toho, while really you remain safely offshore with your family having a blast.
It’s an amazing place for kids, with well-equipped playgrounds, fun splash pads and lots of open space for ball games, Frisbee and more!
This place is truly fun for all ages.
You can engage in sporty activities like jogging, running, biking, or somersault through the open fields the park offers. There are exercise paths too and volleyball courts. You can walk down the sandy beach into the swimming area, or sit back at the picnic area and people watch. It’s a great place to go for a swim or to just relax and plant your feet in the cool waters of lake Toho and soak up the sun. The park also favors the avid birdwatcher, with many of Florida’s favorite bird species flying about.
There is a restaurant on the marina called Crabby Bills, that, among other things, offers fresh crab legs and Rum buckets that are not meant to drink alone. Don’t try! The view is awesome and it’s a great place to sit back and enjoy some food after a long day at the Lakefront Park.
The park is free and open to the public, yet miraculously it’s very well maintained.
The walking and jogging areas remain tidy and litter free, as well as the 2 restroom facilities, one on their side of the waterfront walk, also remain spot on in upkeep.
The park also features a boat ramp that gives access to Lake Toho. This opens up a whole other range of fun activities, ranging from fishing to kayaking, to sun tanning on the open water, whatever you can make available to yourself.
Boat slips also available on site!
In the evenings there are often movies played on a big screen in the middle of the park for the whole family to enjoy.
Dan Tarell Memorial park also offers you the unique opportunity to rent the park and use it for event space and is even ADA accessible.
The Park is pet-friendly too! With certain areas allowing furry little friends to play in peace.
Dan Tarell Memorial Point is a great place for an intimate wedding and for practicing photography too. The vivid and diverse nature of the Park makes finding subjects to capture on camera easy! And the diverse light settings, from the reflective water to the intense shades the sun casts will put your skills to the test!
So come on down and have a great time! Parking readily available too! While water fountains are available, I would recommend to bring lots of bottled water, sunscreen, hats and shades, enough for all in your party, and of course, bring some appetite for Crabby Bill’s too!
